Swiss Research Funding

The KFPE raises awareness among research funders in Switzerland of the importance of suitable and sufficient recognition and funding of research partnerships, and it exchanges information with policymakers in order to help shape policies in favour of research partnerships.

Overview of Swiss research funding

The KFPE web pages on funding and grants provide an overview of current research funding in Switzerland. In addition, the website on Swiss projects provides an overview of past Swiss funding programmes for North-South research.

Analysis of the Swiss research policy

There are several funding instruments in Switzerland that can be used for North-South research partnerships. Dr. Alexandra Hofmänner analyses the Swiss research policy with regard to the strategic promotion of North-South research. She is conducting qualitative interviews and reviewing public information on various funding instruments. A publication of the findings is planned for the end of 2022.

Position papers on the IC Strategy 2025-2028 and the ERI Strategy 2025-2028

As part of the public consultation on the Swiss International Cooperation Strategy 2025-2028 and the Education, Research and Innovation Strategy 2025-2028, the KFPE has written two statements. In both statements, the KFPE emphasises that for long-term and effective scientific support for Swiss IC and to strengthen Swiss research, strategic promotion of Switzerland's global research cooperation is needed. This promotion should not only generate applicable scientific results, but also strengthen Switzerland's global research cooperation as such at the individual, institutional and systemic levels.
