This project aims to investigate the individual and collective strategies that unaccompanied minors asylum seekers (UMAs) implement during migration and the current migration policies and systems for managing UMAs admission and integration at Swiss federal and cantonal levels. ->> Budget: CHF 10 Mio

To investigate the relationships between remittances, financial inclusion and development, focusing on the involvement of the diaspora and their financial and non-financial capital. Development cooperation projects in fragile states are facing particularly complex challenges. Applied research focusing specifically on these challenges, particularly in the areas of food security, natural resource management and rural development, contributes to achieving better impact and more fairness especially for the poorest. ->> Budget: CHF 2 Mio

This project aims to contribute to the knowledge on how targeting of social transfers can be improved for the elderly poor in Bangladesh. ->> Budget: CHF 750'000.-

The project explores how a peacebuilding lens can improve migration governance and how migration can be leveraged to transform conflict. The aim is to translate the research results into concrete recommendations for migration policy in Switzerland and beyond. ->> Budget: CHF 20 Mio

This project aims to develop tools for using national and international data sets to better target the most pressing issues of the poor and for evidence-based policy-making. The main expected outcomes are a platform for the end-user supplying the respective tools and policy-makers trained in evidence-based policy-making. ->> Budget: CHF 6 Mio

swisspeace will build on existing research and peacebuilding activities in Afghanistan to broaden the scope from security-focused activities to a more holistic agenda of violence prevention and conflict transformation. In this way, the proposed project aims to engage in Switzerland’s efforts to prevent violent extremism. ->> Budget: CHF 4 Mio

This project aims to constitute a strategic network of city level expertise and stakeholder communities, working on issues related to urban safety, in order to: i) enable the development of new solutions for city leaders; ii) combine research findings with cross-case comparisons to distil workable practices on the interface of sustainable urbanization and the pursuit of peaceful, just and inclusive societies; and iii) draw on Geneva as a hub for facilitating “collective impact” partnerships. ->> Budget: CHF 2 Mio

Building on Geneva’s track record in the field of violence prevention/reduction, this project aims to establish programming entry-points beyond national implementation frameworks in order to generate constructive political coalitions across the public and private sectors, and from the regional to the local levels. ->> Budget: CHF 2 Mio
