In the online workshop, we want to present an innovative project to explore and understand the rich tapestry of 'Administrative Traditions' across six African countries: Botswana, Ghana, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Senegal, and South Africa.

This initiative seeks to delve deep into the influences of both Western 'Administrative Traditions' and non-Western 'Local Traditions' on the institutions of African bureaucracies. Together with scholars from the six countries and through webinars and comprehensive literature research, we aim to uncover how these traditions shape the current administrative practices and impact the governance within these nations.

We aim to foster a collaborative environment where public management/organizational scholars from universities across these countries can share insights, discuss challenges, and highlight opportunities within their respective administrative frameworks. This project aims to bridge knowledge gaps and celebrate the diversity and resilience of administrative practices across Africa.

The online workshop presents the project idea and the collaborative steps we aim to implement. We also provide an example of the manifestation of 'Administrative Tradition' in two African countries. Participants can interact through questions and comments after initial presentations from the webinar organizers.

Please register for the workshop at least 5 days before the workshop starts.
